Blackburn are interested in signing Milton Keynes captain Keith Andrews.

If the move were to go ahead the midfielder would be reunited with new Rovers boss Paul Ince, who managed the Dons last season.

The 27-year-old has subsequently been made available for transfer by the League One club, with the agreement of the Milton Keynes manager and chairman.

“There has been some contact but there is nothing official to announce yet,” said Dons manager Roberto Di Matteo.

“Of course I’d love to keep my captain. He is an important player who had a fantastic season last year but we will see.”

Andrews was named League Two player of the season as he captained the Dons to the title and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in the 2007-2008 campaign.

He joined the Dons on a free transfer from Hull City in August 2006 after agreeing a three-year contract.

Andrews started his career at Wolves and came through the youth side to play for the first team before moving on to the Tigers on a two-year deal.

He has also had loan spells at Walsall, Stoke City and Oxford United.
