DB’s England call-up (David Bentley & Beckham)

Well, David Bentley has finally achieved the dubious honour of a full England squad call-up, and not before it’s time. Shame that it’s glossed over with the other DB getting his comeback plea from McClown – shows how desperate England are, and how much of a slimeball the manager his. So much for being ‘his own man’, and also smacks of desperation. TBH, I feel Bentley should have been called up on his own merits, not as an also-ran – let’s look back at a few salient facts ……

Liverpool crowd security in Athens – deja vu?

Well, once again, another major football event & Liverpool FC are involved with a crowd safety issue. Granted, there may be mitigating circumstances, and possibly to some degree the management/stewarding/UEFA etc, may have a case to answer but I think there’s two obvious points that need addressing honestly & fairly, without being accused of being Boris Johnson’s lovechild  …..

Nugent for Rovers?

Nugent’s name has cropped up in hushed terms this week as becoming more a serious target; whilst he’s a good talent, I’m wondering if there was a ‘wish list’ for LIKELY striker targets, who would be on it?

I’d love to see Bellers back, think he was happy & settled here, and I really, really rate Ashton as arguably the best English striker around (Rooney being Irish really LOL). However, doubt West Ham would listen to offers, and probably be priced out anyways.
